Beyond reviews, our blog shares practical insights, lessons learned, and practical experience from time spent in the backcountry—so you can head into the backcountry better prepared and more confident in what you carry. We also share our personal hunting experiences through film, documenting the challenges, preparation, and realities of pursuing game in rugged country.
Our gear reviews are never paid or sponsored. While we may receive products for testing, we do not accept payment in exchange for coverage, and no brand has input on our evaluations. Every product we review is used extensively in the field before anything is published. If we haven’t spent meaningful time with it in real-world conditions, it doesn’t get published.
Our goal is straightforward: provide experience-based, unbiased information to help you make confident gear decisions. We hold ourselves to a high standard, and that standard is independence.
What you’ll read is our honest assessment based on firsthand experience. We’ll tell you what performed well, what didn’t, and where a product fell short. At the same time, we understand that gear preferences vary—what works for one person or environment may not work for another.
