Women’s hunting clothes have come a LONG WAY in recent years. Hunting clothing is now widely considered “gear” not just clothing. Forloh women’s hunting clothes are making a bid to be considered the best women’s hunting clothes on the market as more and more companies carry a good selection of hunting clothes for women. FORLOH is no exception.
This FORLOH women’s hunting clothes review comes after having worn men’s clothing and random pieces of camo I picked up at the thrift store just because there weren’t really many options for ladies. I was super excited to try high performing ladies hunting clothing that actually was made to fit my curves. While one certainly does not “need” high-end hunting clothing to be successful, it would be a gross misstatement to say that quality hunting clothes made specifically for women does not improve a gal’s experience in the field. In many cases, having the best hunting clothing you can afford allows you to stay out longer while being much more comfortable.
Is High-Performance Women’s Hunting Clothes Worth The Money?
Hunting clothing has gotten expensive, and women’s hunting clothes are no exception. There is just no way around it. The real question, though, is whether it is worth the extra money. For many years my hunting clothing consisted of mostly cotton, paired with army surplus pants, coats, and layers, and were always made for men so things never quite fit just right. While that is certainly more cost effective than today’s premium hunting clothing, it also means frequently ending hunting trips early because weather conditions outpaced the ability of the clothing we were wearing. They just weren’t that comfortable, or they were super heavy to wear and pack around.
Spend enough time in the backcountry and adverse weather is inevitable. That could mean extremely hot temperatures during early season archery pursuits, or winter storms rolling in during your mid to late season trips. Either way, the right high-quality clothing designed for women from the proper materials will not only keep you in the field longer, but it’ll make your time more enjoyable. This FORLOH women’s hunting clothes review came from the pursuit of finding a line of women’s clothing that was versatile and would last a long time, making it worth the investment.

While this isn’t the full women’s line up of FORLOH women’s hunting clothes, I was able to get a pretty good idea of the performance of some FORLOH hunting clothes; areas they excel and a few areas that could be improved upon.
100% USA MADE AND SOURCED – FORLOH Women’s Clothes
One thing you won’t often find out on the market these days are products that are not only 100% made in the USA, but where all the materials are 100% sourced in the USA. That in and of itself is a monumental task, but FORLOH has done just that. Now as with anything made in the USA, it does come at an extra cost, but you can be sure that FORLOH supports American jobs and keeps everything in the United States. It might be easy to gloss over this fact, but it can’t be overstated enough just how difficult this is. Despite that fact, however, FORLOH remains committed to keeping its products American made, and that is impressive.
The Testing – FORLOH Women’s Hunting Clothes Review
Throughout our use and testing, we had everything from downpours in the spring, excessively warm temperatures in September, and downright cold weather in October and November where we were hit with early snowstorms, single digit temperatures, and nasty rainstorms. While this certainly created some challenges on our hunts, it also gave me a perfect opportunity to see how these FORLOH women’s hunting clothes would perform.
What I Tested – FORLOH Women’s Hunting Clothes Review
During last hunting season, I was able to field test a number of pieces of FORLOH women’s clothes. In trying to find some of the best women’s hunting clothes on the market, I had high hopes in testing their line as they are one of the only truly 100% USA sourced and made hunting clothing companies on the market, and are also one of the few companies that offer a wide range of women’s hunting clothes.
For this FORLOH women’s hunting clothes review, I was able to test out the following pieces:
- FORLOH Women’s Allclima 3L Rain Jacket
- FORLOH Women’s Allclima Stretch Woven Pants
- FORLOH Women’s Deep Space Base Layer Bottom
- FORLOH Women’s Deep Space Base Layer Top
- FORLOH Women’s SolAir Technical Hoody

FORLOH Sizing – Women’s FORLOH Camo Clothing Review
One of the things that can make or break clothing in the backcountry is the fit, and that’s especially true for women’s hunting clothes. Like boots, when clothes aren’t comfortable and don’t fit you properly, it just makes life in the outdoors less enjoyable (or even downright miserable). I was super excited to try some hunting clothes specifically made to fit a women’s body. Since I’d never tried them before, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect with FORLOH’s sizing as far as how they’d fit, but I started with my typical sizes. FORLOH states that their fit is designed for layering, so base layers are meant to fit a bit tighter, while outer layers are sized more generously.
My husband found the men’s line of clothes to be true to size. He typically wears a size large in shirts, and the Forloh men’s clothing fit just as they indicated. No returns or exchanges needed for him, which was a plus as there are no retail stores to go try their clothes on.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t quite as lucky and determining what size to get in which article of clothing was a bit more tricky. I’d venture to say that women’s clothing in general is just harder to find the perfect fit in because women’s curves vary in size and location. To give you an idea, I’m 5’6″, 140 pounds, wear a 34A bra size, and typically wear a size 6 in clothes from Old Navy. I have longer legs and arms so often have trouble with arm and pant lengths being what I need them to be.
With that being said, I wore a SMALL in the FORLOH Women’s Deep Space Base Layer Top (above), but it is snug. If you truly want to wear it as a base layer, then choose the size in shirts you’d normally be, but if you want to be comfortable in it as a stand alone piece, I would go up a size.
The FORLOH Women’s SolAir Technical Hoody (below)I also wore in a size SMALL and it was perfect. Plenty of length in the arms too. These pieces are made from a stretchy material, but some of their other articles of clothing are not and those tend to run small.
The same was true of the FORLOH Women’s Allclima 3L Rain Jacket. Again, it’s not a stretchy fabric, and you’ll be wearing it over other layers of clothes, so I got this in a size medium. It is tighter in the chest and also doesn’t flare out much to pull over the hips, so I definitely needing a MEDIUM.
The FORLOH Women’s Allclima Stretch Woven Pants I need to get in a size 8 and they fit like a glove. If you want something even looser, I’d say go up another size. Their pants just don’t seem to have as much room in the hips as other brands of clothes.
As far as the FORLOH Women’s Deep Space Base Layer Bottom, I ended up getting a MEDIUM but could have gone with a small. I wasn’t planning on wearing them under my pants, but instead, used them as a great layer to sleep in back at camp, so I wanted a little more room. They are similar to exercise pants in that they fit snug and are stretchy, so it’s easier to fit in different sizes and not get it exactly right.

After some trial and error on what sizes I needed for which piece, I was ready to go pursue the backwoods with the fit really dialed in. Is it really worth having women’s hunting clothes? I can definitely say that my experience in the field wearing clothes that actually fit my figure was much better than wearing men’s camo clothing like I had done in the past!
FORLOH Base Layers – Women’s FORLOH Camo Clothing Review
One of the foundational pieces to any kit is base layers. I really wanted to try a base layer – something versatile and something I could wear throughout multiple seasons. The FORLOH Women’s Deep Space Base Layer Bottom and the FORLOH Women’s Deep Space Base Layer Top was what I tested, and fell in love with both pieces right away.
The FORLOH Women’s Deep Space Base Layer Bottom are made of really high quality, one-of-a-kind fabric with incredible technology to keep you warm, dry and smelling fresh. They are a medium weight so could be worn underneath a lighter weight pant to keep in you in the field longer when the temperatures drop, and you don’t have to carry with and different set of pants with you. They are literally made of NASA Certified Space Technology that captures your body heat to keep you warm, but also doesn’t hold in moisture when you sweat. They are amazing!
One of my favorite features about the FORLOH Women’s Deep Space Base Layer Bottoms is that they also have incredible odor protection made from a combination of Polygiene® Odor Crunch + Stay Fresh making these pants perfect for backpacking when you can’t bring a lot of extra clothes. These pants will last all week and still smell fresh as they don’t hold on to odor from bacteria, or even the smell of a campfire.
I primarily used these at night when I slept as they fit snug and regulate body temperature great. I could even hike in them all day under my other pants, and then use these at night and they still were fresh. The fabric is fairly durable as well, however, I did notice some balling up in some places, mostly where the stitching, after wearing them for a season.
The FORLOH Women’s Deep Space Base Layer Top has the same amazing features as the bottoms, and staying warm, dry and odor-free is a cinch. I loved this shirt underneath all of my other layers, and as the day went on, I’d be down to just this top. It really keeps your warm, but doesn’t make you hot, and when you get sweaty, it doesn’t hold on to the moisture dries very quickly. These pieces are definitely some of the best women’s hunting clothes on the market!
This is a huge plus when hunting or backpacking in seasons where it is cold, but once you start moving you warm up quickly and begin to sweat. I’ve worn other clothes before that hold on to that sweat so that you can then become cold quickly once you stop moving. Not the case with these layers!
The arms were plenty long and have a hole for your thumb as well, making it a great top for under other layers of clothing, or can be just worn solo. I wore a size SMALL which fit like a glove, but if you want something a little looser and for this piece to be worn by itself most of the time, I’d go up a size.
FORLOH Women’s Allclima Stretch Woven Pants Review
FORLOH Women’s Allclima Stretch Woven Pants are in the line of women’s pants for hunting that are for “all climates”- hence their name. Other than for extremely cold conditions, these are FORLOH’s go-to pants for anything the backwoods throws at you while hunting. They are some serious pants that are super durable, high quality and will last a long time. You can tell that as soon as you put your hands on them.
ODOR RESISTANT
The FORLOH Women’s Allclima Stretch Woven Pants also have built in to them the Polygiene® Stay Fresh antimicrobial and Odor Crunch® so they don’t hang on to odors, which again, is fabulous especially if you’re in the backcountry for days with only one pair of pants and no shower.
QUIET
Another huge plus with these pants is how quiet they are making them some of the best women’s hunting clothes. They are nearly silent when you walk which is a tremendous help when stalking an animal. They also have reinforced knees with sewn in knee pads, which I didn’t think was that big of a game changer, until I tried these. From being on my knees while setting up camp to kneeling down near a creek for some water to even crawling up to a big game animal on shale so I could remain undetected, I quickly realized how much I’m actually on my knees. Wearing these pants, my knees weren’t sore and torn up afterwards.
POCKETS
Overall these FORLOH Women’s Allclima Stretch Woven Pants have 6 average sized pockets. I’m a sucker for large, baggy cargo pockets where I can keep my range finder or phone, so I thought they could be roomier, but that’s totally a personal preference thing. I am glad they have the pockets they do as some pants hardly have any at all. All of them zip up and have water-repellent zippers, so you can put important things you don’t want to lose or get wet in any of the pockets and feel good about your items being secure.
WAIST BAND
These FORLOH Women’s Allclima Stretch Woven Pants have a serious waist band as well that is super comfortable and extremely durable. This seems to be a trade-mark of these pants that they don’t really advertise, but think they should. It really is one of a kind and is super comfortable, especially when wearing backpack like the Initial Ascent IA5K and carrying a lot of weight. The hip belt of the pack along with the amazing band on these pants were the perfect combination, not giving me any hot spots, red marks or indentations on my hips.
HIP VENTS
Another unique feature of these pants is the ventilation system. They have hip vents that you can unzip for some air flow to help keep you cool, making these pants more versatile in what temperatures you can wear these in. To be honest, I forgot half the time that these were even there so I didn’t use them as much as I would have liked, but when I did it made a huge difference.
The fabric of these pants is great in that it doesn’t snag when trekking through thistles and sage brush. Unlike many clothes I’ve worn, they don’t act like velcro either. I hate it when my clothes collect burrs and goat heads, but that is not a problem with these pants. FORLOH camo clothing truly is a game changer!
WATER REPELLENT
FORLOH Women’s Allclima Stretch Woven Pants are also DWR treated so they are water-repellent. Unless you’re in a torrential downpour for a long time, these pants will keep you dry. I wore them when a rain storm blew through and it poured for a bit. We hunkered down under a tree to get out of the rain as much as possible, but we still got wet. These pants kept me dry. This is a huge plus when hiking in the backwoods because you never know what the weather is going to throw at you.
SIZING
Sizing for the FORLOH Women’s Allclima Stretch Woven Pants seemed to run small. They don’t have as much room in the hips and other women’s pants on the market, so that is definitely something to consider. These are substantial pants and should keep you plenty warm, but if you’re a women who’s legs tend to get cold, or if you want to wear these pants during winter hunts and put the FORLOH Women’s Deep Space Base Layer Bottoms underneath, you’ll definitely want to go up a size, maybe two.
COMPLAINTS
My only complaints with these pants are their weight and breathability. These pants weigh 1 lb 9 oz in a size 8 which is a bit on the heavy side, so if you’re wanting something ultra light, these might not be the best option for you. It’s a give an take because these pants are super durable, have reinforced knees, a serious waist band and are meant to be an all-climate pant which is awesome, but does make them on the heavy side.
As as with many clothes that are water resistant, they tend not to breath as well overall, and I tend to heat up quickly when moving, so I found that they were sometime too warm. Honestly, I don’t think many women would agree with me, as most of the ladies I know are always super cold and can’t get warm. In that case, these pants will be ideal for most ladies.
I would say that these pants would definitely be too warm for early archery season. I wore these in early September in the mountains of Idaho and was just too hot. They are probably more ideal for later in the fall and beginning winter.
SUMMARY
Overall, these pants are incredible and are definitely worth the investment as you really can use them as your one pair of pants making them some of the best women’s hunting clothes a girl could ask for. They don’t hold on to odor and do really well in most temperatures. If you want to extend their use into the colder winter temps, adding the FORLOH Women’s Deep Space Base Layer Bottoms will keep you in the field most of the year without any problem!
FORLOH Women’s Allclima 3L Rain Jacket Review
FORLOH Women’s Allclima 3L Rain Jacket is another piece from the FORHLO women’s hunting clothes in their “allclima line” meaning, this jacket is really suppose to be for all climates. They say it’s a rain jacket, and it definitely is, but it’s much more than that. Typically you think of a rain jacket as something not super thick and light weight that you can throw in your pack in case you run into weather you don’t want leaving you soaked. This jacket does more than that, I’d venture to say it’s not the best if it’s just a rain jacket you’re wanting.
WEIGHT
Although they say it’s light weight, I would say it’s more mid-weight, in actual weight as well as warmth. It’s not a jacket that you can wad up super small and stuff in your pack, but is a jacket you can use for many different climates. This jacket serves as an incredible windbreaker which is what I think it should boast about as much as being a rain jacket.
A lot of jackets don’t protect much from the wind, but this one does. I found myself using it to stay warm on those blistery fall days in the Idaho mountains, even with no forecast for rain. So don’t let the name of this jacket fool you. It really is more of a versatile shell that can be put over as many base layers as you want to wear to keep you in the backcountry as long as possible making it a great piece to add to your wardrobe of FORLOH camo clothing.
WARMTH
The FORLOH Women’s Allclima 3L Rain Jacket is actually fairly warm for a rain jacket. I found myself getting too hot with the FORLOH Women’s Deep Space Base Layer Top underneath it while hiking in low 40 degree temps. You really could add more layers underneath and basically have no real need for a heavy weight jacket when the weather gets in the 20s. Much colder than that and you’d want a different jacket. Granted, this is while hiking, so if you plan to sit, you’ll certainly want to snag an insulation layer like the FORLOH Thermoneutral Down.
NOISE
Just like the FORLOH Women’s Allclima Stretch Woven Pants, the FORLOH Women’s Allclima 3L Rain Jacket is extremely quiet! That’s even more impressive in a jacket meant to withstand the rain, as rain jackets traditionally are super noisy. This comes in handy while hunting so as not to spook the game you’re pursuing.
The fabric is super durable and is just like the pants in feel. While trekking through the brush and brambly bushes, it doesn’t snag or collect unwanted goat heads and stickers.
POCKETS
The FORLOH Women’s Allclima 3L Rain Jacket has multiple uniquely placed pockets perfect for the woman hunter. There is a small 5×4 inch zippered pocket on the font upper left sleeve perfect for stowing away a cow call, chap stick, or think pair of gloves. It also has a super small and narrow zippered pocket on the left upper arm, again for something super small. Then it has your traditional zippered pockets on the sides that are actually vented and help with breathability.
In addition to the zippered pockets it has zippered vents under under the arms that expose a mesh fabric just like the hip vents on the FORLOH Women’s Allclima Stretch Woven Pants. This is just another additional feature that is unique and allows this jacket to be worn in a wider range of temperatures.
DISLIKES
While this jacket is considered an “all climate” jacket, it would not be ideal as something super light weight. However, I typically just wear my FORLOH Women’s Deep Space Base Layer Top or FORLOH Women’s SolAir Technical Hoody for those types of conditions, and any temperature leaving me wanting more, this jacket is a great option. But, if you are looking to save ounces while still being waterproof, you’ll want to snag the FORLOH Airalite Rain Jacket.
My primary dislike is it’s breathability. This is being super picky as with any rain jacket or wind breaker it’s impossible to be breathable. For all that this jacket does, it actually does remarkably well in this department. If you really aren’t in need of protection for a cold wind, snow or rain, I would go with the FORLOH Allclima Stretch Woven Jacket as you’ll gain more breathability, a little more warmth, be even more quiet, but you’ll lose some water resistance. Hunting in the Idaho mountains in the fall typically leave me wanting this jacket, however.
I don’t do a lot of fishing, but I could definitely see using this jacket if I did. It is perfect for those kinds of conditions, especially on a boat where you might get sprayed and definitely want a good windbreaker. If you’re a women who loves to get out there on a boat and throw out a line, this jacket would be perfect as well. It comes in a variety of patterns, including some solid colors, so camo is not the only option.
SIZING
As far as sizing goes, the FORLOH Women’s Allclima 3L Rain Jacket seems to run small. It fits snug in the chest and also doesn’t have much clearance on the bottom for hips. Since it is not a fabric that gives at all you’ll definitely want to go up a size. I normally wear a size small and am smaller chested and need to get this jackets in a MEDIUM.
SUMMARY
Overall, this is an amazing jacket and is worth the investment as it really will last you a lifetime and is super versatile. The zippers are incredible on all of their clothes as they are super durable, and how they are made does not allow for material to get snagged in it when zipping it up. You really will have this jacket forever and will be glad you own this piece! It gets my vote for some of the best women’s hunting clothes! FORLOH camo clothing knocked it out of the park again!
FORLOH Women’s SolAir Techincal Hoody
The FORLOH Women’s SolAir Technical Hoody is one of my favorite pieces, and it’s not just for women hunters. It comes in a variety of colors, some of which would look great at the beach. It’s a great piece to wear when there’s a slight breeze and there’s some coolness in the air. It’s the perfect go-to piece for cool dawns and dusks.
HOOD
The hood on this FORLOH Women’s SolAir Technical Hoody isn’t too snug when on your head, but it also doesn’t slip off easily or blow off. It covers the ears well and protects against a slightly chilly breeze. I love that it’s a full zip, which makes taking this hoody on an off a cinch. And as with all of FORLOH’s zippers, they are well-designed and super durable which I love. While it doesn’t have zippered pockets, it does have open pockets for putting your hands in to keep warm which I love for women’s hunting clothes.
MATERIAL
The material is slightly stretchy so you can pull it down over your hips if needed. It’s a nice tapered athletic fit, but doesn’t run small. I wore this in a size SMALL which is true for me, and still had a tiny bit of room in it. FORLOH’s website even recommends going down a size if you like a tight, athletic fit.
SUN PROTECTION
My favorite feature about this hoody is the UPF 50+ sun protection you get in the fabric making it one of my favorite women’s hunting clothes. I found myself leaving this hoody on even after the temperature began to rise as I didn’t want to have to mess with putting sun screen on, and with it being a hoody, I could even use it to protect my neck and ears from the sun.
SUMMARY
Overall, I didn’t have a single complaint about this FORLOH Women’s SolAir Technical Hoody. It’s definitely a piece you’ll want while adventuring in the outdoors. It packs down small which makes it a great piece to throw in your backpack as well. You can’t go wrong with this hoody! It’s sleek and made to fit a woman’s frame perfectly.
