We recently had the opportunity to test both the Niphean Classic Glidewing Series All-Round 11′ Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board and the Niphean Classic Clovis Point Series All-Round 10’6″ Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Board Set. After spending time with both boards, we came away impressed not only by their performance but also by their value.
With both paddle boards typically priced around $200, they are an very affordable way to get out on the water. In fact, after renting paddle boards just a few times, many families could easily spend as much as purchasing one of these outright. Considering everything included in the package, these boards offer a lot of value for the money.
One of the things we love most about these Niphean inflatable paddle boards is how easy they make outdoor adventures. Unlike boats, there is no trailer to tow, no engine to maintain, and no worries about mechanical problems ruining your day. They pack down surprisingly small, fit easily in a vehicle, and can be taken almost anywhere.

Design and Performance | Niphean Glidewing vs Clovis Point Paddle Boards
The Niphean Glidewing inflatable paddle board measures 11 feet long and is slightly narrower than the Clovis Point. It also features a more pointed nose, which helps it cut through the water a little more efficiently and track slightly better.
The Niphean Clovis Point inflatable paddle board is approximately 5 inches shorter and noticeably wider, with a more rounded front end. The result is a board that feels naturally stable and confidence-inspiring, particularly for newer paddlers.
On the water, the Glidewing felt a little faster and more streamlined, while the Clovis Point offered a more relaxed and stable ride.
The Glidewing is rated for up to 500 pounds, while the Clovis Point supports up to 450 pounds. Both boards easily handled multiple riders and felt sturdy throughout our testing.
Package Differences | Niphean Paddle Boards
Both of these Niphean inflatable paddle board options can be purchased as a set or just the board (which still comes with everything you need). The set includes a 2nd paddle end and an inflatable seat, turning your Niphean inflatable paddle board into more of kayak feel, with a double ended paddle that is perfect when used in the sitting position with the inflatable seat (also sold separately on the Niphean website). You can also add an electric pump to the kit, which makes filling up your Niphean inflatable paddle board a breeze.
We got the full set with the Clovis Point and the standard kit with the Glidewing, and this turned out to be one of our favorite features of the Clovis Point kit. Since the Niphean Glidewing can support up to 500 pounds and easily accommodate two or even three riders, we found ourselves wishing we’d also picked up the full set with it as it proved to be useful. When paddling with multiple people aboard, constantly switching paddle sides can become cumbersome and occasionally result in accidentally bumping your passengers.
The kayak-style paddle simply felt more natural when sharing the board with others.
Accessory Mounts Add Versatility | Niphean Paddle Boards
One feature we initially overlooked on the Niphean Glidewing was the pair of threaded mounting points located near the front and center of the board.
At first, we weren’t sure what they were for. After doing a little reading, we discovered they can be used to attach accessories such as a GoPro, the included cup holder, or even a fishing rod holder with the proper attachment.
This turned out to be a really useful feature. Anyone who enjoys filming their adventures or fishing from a paddle board will appreciate the flexibility. Even if you never use the mounts, they remain completely out of the way and don’t interfere with paddling or standing.
Stability and the StabilTrac™ Fin
We also tested the optional StabilTrac™ patented fin, which we installed on the Clovis Point.
One important thing to note is that the Glidewing was tested without the StabilTrac installed, while the Clovis Point had the StabilTrac attached. Because of this, some of the additional stability we experienced on the Clovis Point was likely due to the fin as well as the board’s wider design.
The StabilTrac noticeably improved balance and made the Clovis Point feel extremely stable on the water. This was particularly helpful when carrying multiple riders or when one rider was standing while another remained seated. The tradeoff was maneuverability. Quick turns became slightly more difficult, and the additional fin length made shallow areas harder to navigate. For rivers, creeks, or locations where frequent maneuvering is required, we would probably leave the StabilTrac fin off.
For beginners, families, deeper lakes, and situations where stability is the priority, the StabilTrac proved to be a worthwhile upgrade.
One downside we noticed was transportation. With the StabilTrac attached, carrying the board became a little awkward. This left us wishing both boards included additional EZ-Grip handles at the front and rear so two people could carry them more comfortably.
Inflation and Deflation | Niphean Inflatable Paddle Board Review
Both boards were very easy to inflate and deflate.
One important tip is to make sure the air valve is properly locked before beginning inflation. If it isn’t, all the air you’ve pumped in can rush right back out when the hose is disconnected. Before inflating, press down and rotate the center valve pin into the proper position.
We tested both the included hand pump and an electric pump and were surprised to find the hand pump worked just as fast, if not slightly faster, but the Niphean electric pump allowed us to go start setting up the 2nd inflatable paddle board while the pump worked it’s magic. The Electric pump also allowed more a more precise PSI as we’d set the desired PSI, and the pump shuts itself off when it hits the desired PSI. For most users, the included hand pump works extremely well.
When it came time to pack up, we also discovered there was no need to vacuum every bit of air out of the boards. Simply opening the valve and folding the board naturally pushes enough air out to allow easy storage, but we did find a tighter and more compact fit if the pump was used to remove all the air from the board..
Niphean Electric Air Pump
We also had the opportunity to try the Niphean Electric Air Pump, which an add-on accessory for an extra $70 at the time of this review. If you’d rather not manually inflate your paddle board, this accessory makes the process incredibly simple. Just plug it into your vehicle using the included cigarette lighter power cable, set your desired PSI, and press a button. The pump automatically inflates the board to the selected pressure while you prepare the rest of your gear.
The only thing that confused us initially was determining which port was used for inflation and which was used for deflation. The graphics printed on the pump seemed opposite of what we expected. The port with the arrow pointing inward appears as though it should inflate the board, but it is actually the deflation port. The port with the arrow pointing outward is the inflation port. Once we figured that out, the pump was very straightforward to use.
One thing we noticed was that inflation seemed to take a while. However, we didn’t have another electric paddle board pump available for comparison, so this may be completely normal for electric pumps. Even so, it was nice to set the PSI, push a button, and let the pump do the work.
Interestingly, when we compared it directly to the included hand pump, the hand pump was just as fast, if not slightly faster. The electric pump’s biggest advantage is convenience rather than speed.
The included carrying case is generously sized and easily fits the pump, hoses, various nozzle sizes, power cord, and accessories with room to spare.
IMPROVEMENT: One improvement we’d like to see is a small zippered storage pouch attached inside the case for the nozzle adapters. The small pieces tended to come loose and move around whenever we removed or replaced the pump and hoses. A dedicated pocket would make organization much easier.
Storage and Portability | Niphean Inflatable Paddle Board Review
One area where both boards truly impressed us was portability.
The included backpack-style carrying cases provide plenty of room for the boards and accessories. Unlike some inflatable products that require perfect folding to fit back into their storage bags, these boards packed away easily and without frustration. The included bags are more than large enough to fit not only the inflatable paddle board, but easily stores all the accessories as well.
We never had to fight with the bags or repeatedly refold the boards to make everything fit. Everything went back into the backpacks quickly and stress-free. Because they pack down so small, transporting them is incredibly easy. Whether you’re loading them into a car, SUV, truck, or RV, they take up very little space compared to hard paddle boards, kayaks, or boats.
Comfort and Durability | Niphean Inflatable Paddle Boards
Both of these Niphean inflatable paddle boards feature comfortable non-slip deck pads that remained pleasant to stand or sit on for extended periods. We never felt uncomfortable, even after spending several hours on the water.
The front and rear bungee storage areas are useful for securing gear, while the included waterproof pouch provides a convenient place for phones, keys, and other valuables.
Both boards feel durable and well-made, and the included three-year warranty adds additional peace of mind.
A Quick Note About Safety | Paddle Boards
Before heading out, make sure to check the laws and requirements in your state. Paddle boards are often considered “vessels” and may require certain safety equipment.
For example, in Idaho, paddle board users may be required to carry a life jacket for each person aboard, a whistle, an invasive species sticker, and in some situations a visibility flag. Regulations can change, so it is always a good idea to verify current requirements before launching.
Final Verdict | Niphean Paddle Board Reviews
After spending time with both paddle boards, we came away impressed by each one.
The Niphean Glidewing offers a higher 500-pound weight capacity, slightly better tracking, useful accessory mounts, and a more streamlined design that cuts through the water efficiently. If you like to have the option to use it like a kayak, we’d recommend picking up the Glidewing set which includes the seat and additional paddle end to make it function more like a kayak.
The Niphean Clovis Point provides a wider platform and excellent stability. While some of that stability was enhanced by the StabilTrac fin we installed, the wider design still makes it feel very beginner-friendly and confidence-inspiring. Once again, you prefer to have the option of sitting down and relaxing, we’d recommend picking up the Clovis Point set with the seat and additional paddle end.
Ultimately, the differences between these two boards are relatively small. Both are comfortable, durable, easy to transport, and simple to use. More importantly, both offer an affordable way to explore lakes, rivers, and remote waterways without the expense and hassle of owning a boat.
Personally, we slightly preferred the Clovis Point because of its stable feel if you are just getting in to paddle boarding. However, the Glidewing‘s additional weight capacity and tracking performance make it an excellent choice if you have a little experince with paddle boards. It is still a great option for beginners as well though.
Whichever model you choose, Niphean inflatable paddle boards are good quality inflatable paddle boards that make it easy to get out, cool off, explore new waters, and create lasting memories with family and friends.
