There are a lot of great ultralight tripods on the market these days, but the Aziak Backcountry Lite tripod stands out among the crowd. We’ve had the priveledge of testing many of them, and this is the one we keep grabbing when every ounce matters, but we still need great stability. While it’s not easy to pick our favorite in this category, the one that we keep coming back to is the Aziak Backcountry Lite tripod. When paired with the new Aziak Vantage pan head, the combo is one we feel like give you the best total weight AND the best functionality, usability, and most importantly, stability.
We’ve shot of the Aziak Backcountry Lite tripod system when needed (not amazing, but certainly gets the job done), glassed off this setup with binoculars and spotting scopes, and even used this setup with heavy optics like a large Tract Toric 80mm spotting scope and the Kowa TSN 88A. This little unit shined, even with a total weight of less than 27oz.
